Michael Robert Bio

Michael Robert (Guimond) is a singer/songwriter originally from Ogdensburg, NY and has been playing guitar since age 5.  He began performing in his church folk group at age 11, and continued through high school til age 18.  He studied voice and piano at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, and has played in various area bands since the age of 16.  He currently performs solo as "Margarita Mike" and duo with his son Tony "Gooeymond" (Guimond) on drums.  Mike performs with the band Downtown on vocals and guitar, and has opened for Blue Coup (Blue Oyster Cult founding members Joe and Al Bouchard and Dennis Dunway from Alice Cooper), the band Ambrosia, and Peter Beckett of Player.  He has just released his debut studio album, “Fool for Your Love” as Michael Robert, and is in the process of writing his second album.  He performs over 100 shows a year at small venues across Northern NY and Eastern Ontario.  His main instrument is guitar, but also plays bass, drums, mandolin, ukulele, black keys and several while ones, harmonica, and is dabbling in alto sax and the triangle.
